Meet Dr. Patroklos “Pak” Androulakis Korakakis
Scientist, Coach, Lifter.
Dr. Pak is a coach, scientist, and educator with a focus on strength and hypertrophy training. He holds a PhD in Sports Science from Solent University (under Dr. James Fisher and Dr. James Steele), where his research centred on the minimum effective training dose, an area in which he is now considered a leading expert.
He is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Applied Muscle Development Lab at Lehman College in New York City, working alongside Dr. Brad Schoenfeld on applied research into muscle growth and strength development. As an active researcher, Pak consistently publishes in peer-reviewed scientific journals and regularly presents his work at academic conferences and private seminars around the world.
Beyond research, he has coached individuals across all levels, from beginners to high-level strength athletes, and consults for elite coaches across a range of sports, including Team GB Olympic-level and NBA strength and conditioning coaches.
Pak also the author of Train Smarter, Not Longer (Human Kinetics, June 2026), a book on the minimum effective dose for muscle and strength development, with a foreword by Dr. Brad Schoenfeld.
